Engines Ready!
Vint-tro is once again bringing back the legendary Euro road trip. For those who have travelled with us before you know this will be a blast.
15 vehicles taking a 4-day, 3-night tour, having an amazing time, our groups spend a lot of time with like-minded people socialising together.
Day One
This year, all road trippers will meet on UK soil at the Channel Tunnel where we will get acquainted with one another before boarding the wide-track carriage to Calais.
Upon arrival in France, all road trippers will have an opportunity to re-group, re-fuel and get any needed journey snacks!
Moving in convoy, we will head in the direction of Lille, a lovely city in the French Flanders region, where a lunch stop will be the first order of the day. All road trippers sit down together, enjoy a spot of lunch and talk about the morning's shenanigans so far!
Following lunch, we drive to the first hotel of the trip, located in Leuven, a city to the east of Brussels in Belgium. Once parked up and checked in, we will embark on our first night out to see all that Leuven has to offer.
Being home to the largest beer brewer in the world, Anheuser-Busch InBev, who represents brands such as Budweiser and Michelob, we are highly likely to sample a few drinks that Leuven has to offer into the evening.
Day Two
Waking up with views over the hotel gardens, all road trippers gather for breakfast to discuss the night before!
Once packed and loaded, we start the cars to continue on our way, waving goodbye to Leuven and heading out of Belgium and crossing the border into the Netherlands.
A lunch stop for all in the Eindhoven area is in store for us. This city is located in the south Netherlands, and is also the home to Phillips Electronics! A couple of hours out of the vehicles to replenish ourselves with more food.
Post lunch and feeling full, we jump back into the cars and continue on our way. The next stop on the trip is Cologne, Germany! We have been fortunate enough to book the V8 Hotel, the name in itself should tell you a lot about tonight's accommodation. With the entire hotel being designed for the petrolhead, there is car memorabilia and more everywhere!
Not only is the hotel every car enthusiast's dream, it is also right alongside Motorworld. Here a huge number of classic and sports cars are displayed in the free-to-enter museum, including Michael Schumacher's collection! It doesn't get much better than this, does it?
Having had some time to unwind, all road trippers will meet in the hotel bar for drinks and to once again catch up on the day's adventures. However, once all of us are ready we will be heading the short 15-minute taxi into central Cologne to experience some German culture...and beer!
Day Three
Waking up knowing everything around you is designed for the petrolhead is one thing, but the trip is still rolling.
Day three sees the group leave Germany and head back to Belgium. With no planned stop this will be a direct route to the amazing city of Brugge. For those that have never had the opportunity to explore this fine place, you are in for a real treat. With a huge array of cobbled streets, medieval buildings and canal waterways, there isn't much Brugge doesn't offer.
From sitting outside in the square looking up at the cathedral with a Belgian beer in your hand, to enjoying the local delicacies including the many many chocolate shops, this city offers something for everyone.
We are fortunate enough to find ourselves staying at the Crown Plaza, which could not be located any more central if it tried. In the corner of the main square with underground parking reserved, we will be in the perfect position to be spoilt by this wonderful city.
All road trippers will arrive in convoy around midday and have the entire remainder of the day to immerse yourselves in this fine place. Brugge, being a Vint-tro favourite, we would highly recommend a visit to 2be and its famous beer wall and sample tasters; it really is a must!
Day Four
We wake up, have breakfast and get any last minute presents bought for loved ones before saying farewell to Brugge. With a midday departure, we head back along the E40 and A16 past Dunkirk to Calais for the tunnel crossing home.
The trip concludes for another year at the tunnel and all road trippers make their way back home.
