Let’s, face it, we all love a great movie and when there are cars involved it gets even better.
So we thought we would list our all time top 10 movies that feature the rides that we adore. Starting at number 10.
The Fast and the Furious – 2001
Fortunately this original (future) classic film had just the right amount of far-fetchedness to make it a fun-packed ride. Great cars, deadly handsome dudes and sexy woman makes this a regularly watch; just remember not to taint this movie by the endless, low par worthless sequels that followed. A movie we should big up for those petrolhead drifters. RIP Paul Walker.
9. Le Mans – 1971
The first in our list of top 10 is the self-proclaimed obsessed petrolhead King of Cool himself, Steve McQueen. In this film he plays a racing driver trying to win the Le Mans 24-hour race. It is intense and will engross you to the limits. One for the petrolheads to watch over a curry and a beer!
8. Gone in 60 Seconds – 1974 & 2000
The original has the entire car thievery you could ever dream of. A gang headed up by Maindrian Pace are commissioned to steal 48 cars including a troublesome Ford Mustang nicknamed “Eleanor”, The remake with Nicolas Cage was not too bad either, 2 films with plenty of sideways drifting and rubber burning. Get on it!
7. Bullitt – 1968

6. Smokey and The Bandit – 1977
Who can forget that scene where the Bandit with the porn star moustache (Burt Reynolds) and frog (Jackie Gleason) jumps over an old derelict wooden bridge in an American classic black Trans Am. Ohhh we can smell the petrol now!
5. The Love Bug – 1968
This Children’s themed movie even makes the hardened car nuts get a bit teary eyed at the scene where Herbie the cutest VW Beetle ever attempts to commit suicide. If you haven’t seen this film you haven’t had a childhood. .
4. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang – 1968
There are few cars more famous than the misfiring, rickety but flying machine of Caractacus Potts (played by Dick Van Dyke). Yes as a child we believed this car could actually fly didn’t we? Like the Herbie movies, if you have not seen this film you have been deprived as a child.
3. The Gumball Rally – 1976

Dashed with all types of classic American and European cars such as a Ferrari driven by priests this film has a conveyor belt of superstar actors and actresses with the likes of Burt Reynolds, Roger Moore, Farrah Fawcett, Jackie Chan, Sammy Davis Jr, Dean Martin and Peter Fonda. With cars such as the iconic Lamborghini Countach driven by sexy cat suited woman, brilliant humour this film is must for anyone’s collection.
